RIP Bob Altman (1931-2017)

Hello. This is the ghost of Bob Altman aka Bob's living daughter Carlen writing in third person to let you know that Bob has passed away peacefully this past Friday March 10th, 2017 in his bed after a 9 month battle with Leukemia.

But wait, just wait - before you get upset (which is perfectly normal - let it out) just know that only a mere 2 weeks ago I (Bob and Carlen together) did a radio show for 3 hours discussing life, comedy career, and (Bob's) impending death.

AN ANECDOTE ABOUT UNCLE DIRTY by Comedian Ritch Shydner

 

One night Uncle Dirty was hanging in the crowded Improv bar when the bartender shouted, "Phone call for Robert Altman.  Phone call for Robert Altman."  Dirty took the call.  When he returned to his place two pretty young women approached him. "Are you really Robert Altman, the director?"  Never one to miss an opportunity Dirty showed them his driver's license.  He then talked the ladies into going outside to his car, probably under the guise of smoking some pot.  He explained why a famous director drove a beat-up VW Beetle by saying when in New York he likes to keep a low profile.  One thing lead to the obvious thing and soon Dirty was getting dirty with one of the young women in the back seat.  The other gal sat in the front set staring out the windshield.  When it was over Uncle Dirty, sensing an opportunity for a double header, tapped the shoulder of the young lady in the front seat and asked if she wanted to exchange places with her friend.  The young girl said, "No, thanks.  I'm not interested in being in show business."
